System Architect

aXseum Inc. seeks a Full-time System Architect to support the DTRA mission on location in Ft. Belvoir, VA

We are searching for an outstanding candidate to be a key contributor on the Defense Stockpile Management System (DSMS) including Nuclear Management Information System (NUMIS), Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS), Joint Application Design Environment (JADE) and DIAMONDS Accountability Training System (DATS) projects.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements: 

  1. Establish DSMS architecture within the context of the overall system including selection of processor types and architecture, and software architecture and major interfaces, in accordance with applicable DoD and other Federal policies and guidance, such as Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  2. Plan and develop architecture and design plans for communication and collaboration products, operating system platforms including servers, devices, management products, applications and overall security related to implementing these products.
  3. Developing architecture artifacts as requested by DTRA to document newly integrated capabilities within the DSMS Enterprise Architecture. The artifacts shall include the following reference models as applicable:
  • Business Reference Model
  • Service Component Reference Model
  • Technical Reference Model
  • Performance Reference Model
  • Data Reference Model
  1. Analyzing objectives, categorize and prioritize requirements, and architect solutions.
  2. Architect, implement, and deploy leading edge technologies and solutions.
  3. Assist in the strategic planning process to ensure strongly aligned IT and business goals
  4. Providing consulting and SW and IT Lifecycle Frameworks that offer best practice processes, guidance, and custom-tailored solutions for managing the entire IT life cycle (planning, preparing, building, maintaining).
  5. Refining current architectures and assist in the deployment and integration of communications solutions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  1. Demonstrated Experience working with DoD and other Federal Architecture policies and guidance
  2. Demonstrated Experience developing DoDAF documentation
  3. Advanced degree of analytical ability.
  4. Advanced skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  5. Intermediate skills in database design and concepts.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  1. Certified as an IASAE II in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance (IA) Workforce Improvement Program Manual. (CSSLP desired)
  2. Final Top Secret Clearance
  3. B.S. Degree required; or direct work experience may substitute for education. (1 year experience = 1 year education).
  4. Minimum of 5 years of experience providing similar services, preferably in DoD

Senior Software Engineer

aXseum Inc. seeks a Full-Time Senior Software Engineer to support the ATIA mission located in Fort Eustis, VA to develop and maintain Java and NodeJS web applications.

Our software engineers work closely with our project managers and other development team members to analyze requirements and develop solutions in an Agile scrum environment.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirement:

  1. Ensure timely completion of deliverables by attending daily SCRUMs and using agile practices.
  2. Create detailed requirement analysis documents which clearly describe the work needed and timeline to complete them.
  3. Determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and make relevant recommendations to clients.
  4. Work closely with Project Managers and Development Team to create project timelines.
  5. Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy your progress and/or delays.
  6. Understanding of quality measures and application to the position on the team.
  7. Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
  8. Alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities.
  9. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Understanding of modern web technologies: HTML5, XHTML, CSS3, and consuming REST services
  2. Self-starter with strong self-management skills
  3. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  4. Ability to enjoy optimizing existing features just as much as developing entirely new ones.
  1. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and SharePoint

Minimum Education and Experience:

  1. BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
  2. Experience creating high performance Java web applications
  3. Experience creating GraphQL services
  4. Experience in using Oracle RDBMS
  5. Experience with Apache Tomcat, Oracle Glassfish, and NodeJS
  6. Experience with Spring, Spring WebFlow, Hibernate, AJAX
  7. Experience working as part of team
  1. Experience writing modular and fast performing Javascript using libraries and frameworks like JQuery, Angular, etc. where appropriate is a plus
  2. Experience leading small group of developers a plus.

aXseum Inc. seeks a Full-time Software Engineer to support the DTRA mission on location in Alexandria, VA. 

We are searching for an outstanding candidate to perform programming, research, analysis, and support for the Defense Stockpile Management System (DSMS) projects for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

General Summary: 

Performs programming, research, analysis, and support for the Defense Stockpile Management System (DSMS) projects for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements:

Performs research, analysis, and programming support to write code in Visual Studio C# and modify existing ColdFusion, Flash and ActionScript functionality.

  1. Perform software engineering and integration in accordance with all applicable DTRA and DoD standards, industry best practices and conventions, and in compliance with DoD standard architectures and interoperability/supportability requirements tailored for the DSMS programs
  2. For DSMS legacy system, develop/modify application modules using ColdFusion, Flash and ActionScript (1 or 2) to support new functionality as required by the users.
  3. For DIAMONDS Next Generation, develop/modify application modules using Visual Studio C#, CSS, JQuery, HTML, frameworks and other web technologies to support new functionality required by the users.
  4. Analyzes and modifies existing database SQL and PL/SQL stored procedures and generate new stored procedures as required.
  5. Participates in software and database design analysis.
  6. Assists with analysis and documentation of user requirements.
  7. Participates in peer reviews and mentoring activities within the development team.
  8. Performs unit testing of individual modules prior to it being released to the Quality Assurance team.
  9. Create/update documentation for all work performed.
  10. Performs all other work as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Advanced degree of analytical ability.
  2. Knowledge of CMMI policy and procedures for software development
  3.   Advanced skills in problem solving.
  4.   Advanced skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  5.   Intermediate skills in database design and concepts.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  1. S. Degree required; or direct work experience may substitute for education.

(1 year experience = 1 year education).

  1. Three to four (3-4) years of experience providing software development support.
  2. Current COMP TIA Security+ CE cert (or better), CSSLP Cert preferred
